07/30/08 - Gatemen and CCBL All-Stars Honored at Fenway
Gatemen All-Stars Brandon Workman (Texas), Raynor Cambell (Baylor), Dallas Keuchel (Arkansas) and Max Perlman (Harvard) along with their CCBL Western Division All-Star Teammates and the CCBL Eastern Division All-Stars were honored at Fenway Park in Boston prior to the game between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angelas Angels.
Thanks to Gatemen Official Photograph Andrew Griffith, who secured an "all-access" Fenway press pass, we captured many photos of the ceremony, the game and the "scene" at historic Fenway Park. All players and coaches were presented with a plaque commemorating the event and enjoyed a terrific night in Boston.
Former Gatemen RHP Justin Masterson and former Brewster Whitecap Sean Casey from the Boston Red Sox presented the players with their award. Other former CCBL players present included Mike Lowell (Chatham), Kevin Youkilis (Bourne), Jacoby Ellsbury (Falmouth), Jason Varitek (Hyannis), Mark Texeiria (Orleans) and Joe Saunders (Harwich).

The game proved to be the last for 2004 World Series MVP Manny Ramirez as he was traded the very next day at the trading deadline to the LA Dodgers; as trade the involved former Gatemen infielder Andy LaRoche. It also featured the first game played for the Anglels by former Cape Leaguer Mark Texeiria, who was traded from the Braves to the Angels. Justin Masterson made a relief apperance for the Red Sox.
